Apra Labs Inc. - Privacy Policy

w.e.f. 01 August, 2019

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Apra's mobile apps (the "Apra Apps"), which you can use to play games. This Privacy Policy outlines the ways in which we store, use, transfer, and delete the information we collect about you when you download and use the Apra Apps, as well as when you use our website or other sites or services (collectively, the "Services").

Face Hero App: TrueDepth Camera and Face Data

The Face Hero application uses the TrueDepth camera on applicable iPhone/iPad models to determine which way your face is pointing and to estimate your facial expressions. These expressions are used to control the applications. We will not store or retain any data captured by the TrueDepth camera on our servers or use your Face Data for any purpose other than the app's core gameplay. Apra Labs does not and will not use your Face Data to personally identify any user of the application.

How we use the information collected

The information we collect at Apra is used to enable the Services to work as well as possible. When you download and use the Apra Apps, we collect information from you, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that can, alone or in combination, be used to identify you. We maintain the information we collect about you for up to three years after your last interaction with the Services.

In order to give you the best possible experience using the Services, we collect information from your interactions with the Services. Some of this information, such as your phone number, email address you actively give us. We may also ask for permission to access your device's location services, in order to verify your jurisdiction before allowing you to use our Apps. Other information, such as the pages that you access within the Apra Apps, we automatically collect based on actions you take while using the Services. This information includes records of your interactions, your Internet Protocol address, your WiFi ID, information about your device (such as device or operating system), and referral information.

We use this information to:

(i) Provide, test, improve, promote and personalize the Services;

(ii) Communicate with you, in order to tell you about the Services, as well as to provide offers we believe will be of interest to you, including text messages relating to your use of the Services;

(iii) Fight spam and other forms of abuse, and enforce restrictions against users who have acted maliciously or violated our Terms of Service; and

(iv) Generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use the Services, for both our own internal analytics purposes as well as for the use and benefit of our partners, affiliates, agents, advertisers, sponsors, and other third parties.

Information Disclosure

Apra won’t sell or transfer Personally Identifiable Information about you to third parties for the purpose of providing or facilitating third-party advertising to you. Apra provides advertisers only with general, aggregated, anonymized data on its user base as a whole. Apra does not provide advertisers with any specific data regarding you or any other specific users. Advertisers and sponsors can advertise to Apra's entire active user base, but cannot target any particular users based on their personal information.

We may share your specific account information with third parties in some circumstances, including:

(i) with your consent;

(ii) to a service provider or partner who meets our data protection standards, who provides a function on our behalf (such as hosting, database maintenance, content delivery, email and notification messaging, advertising management and delivery, or payment processing);

(iii) with academic or non-profit researchers, with aggregation, anonymization, or pseudonymization;

(iv) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena or other legal process; or

(v) when we have a good faith belief that doing so will help prevent imminent harm to someone.

If we are going to share your information in response to legal process, we’ll give you notice so you can challenge it (for example by seeking court intervention), unless we’re prohibited by law or believe doing so may endanger others. We will object to all requests for information about users of the Services that we believe are improper.

Apra may share specific information that we collect with the public at large, such as the username that you create and any profile picture or avatar that you upload or create along with your account. This information will be visible to other users, as well as to other individuals not using the Apra Apps.

Data Storage

Apra uses third-party vendors and hosting partners, such as Amazon, for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run the Services. By using the Services, you authorize Apra to transfer, store, and use your information in the United States, and in any other country where we operate.

Third Party Advertisements

Some of the content that you see displayed within the Apra Apps is not owned or hosted by Apra. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Services, and not to the content or services provided by other websites or applications not controlled by Apra (the "Third Party Sites"). Links from Third Party Sites do not imply Apra’s endorsement or review of the content contained therein. Apra recommends reading the privacy policies of all Third Party Sites before engaging with their content. Contact the Third Party Sites directly for information on their privacy policies. If a link or embed from or to a Third Party Sites asks you for personal information, such as your email address, Apra doesn’t know what they may do with it; as explained above, their actions are not covered by this Privacy Policy. So, please be careful when you see embedded forms on Medium asking for your email address or any other personal information. Make sure you understand who you are submitting your information to and what they say they plan to do with it.

Tracking & Cookies

Apra's website and other Services may use browser cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you return to the Services. We use them in various ways, for example to remember your preferences (such as default language), evaluate email effectiveness, and personalize content and other information. Apra doesn’t track you across the Internet; we track only your interactions within the Apra Network (which encompasses all of the Services). Some third-party services that we use to provide the Apra Service, such as Google Analytics and Unity Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers use of cookies by Apra only and not the use of cookies by third parties.

Changes to your Account

To modify the information associated with your account, please do so within the same app that you originally used to create your account. If you'd like to opt out of using the Services altogether, you should delete the Apra Apps from your device. If you ever decide to delete your Apra account altogether, you may do so by contacting us at contact@apralabs.com. Once you terminate your account, your profile and the information associated with it will be deleted from our servers. To protect information from accidental or malicious destruction, we may maintain residual copies for a brief time period. But, if you delete your account, your information and content will be unrecoverable after that time. Apra may preserve and maintain copies of your information when required to do so by law. Furthermore, copies of deleted information may remain viewable elsewhere where it has already been shared with others, or where it was copied or stored by other users or other third parties, or where it was included in aggregated datasets for analysis.

Data Security

We use standard encryption protocols to protect data transmitted to and from the Services. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee security. You use the Services at your own risk, and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account. In order to improve your account security, do not log in to your Apra account on any device that you do not own.

Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization or sale of assets such that your information would be transferred or become subject to a different privacy policy, we’ll notify you in advance so you can opt out of any such new policy by deleting your account before transfer.

Emails and text messages from

Sometimes, Apra will send you emails, text messages or push notifications about your account, service changes, or new policies. You can’t opt out of this type of “transactional” communication without deleting your account entirely. However, you can opt-out of all non-administrative communications (such as digests, newsletters, and activity notifications). Note that when you interact with an email or text message we send you, such as opening an email or clicking on a particular link in a message, we may receive information about that interaction.

If you wish to permanently stop receiving all emails, text messages or push notifications from us, you will need to delete your account and all associated information, because we cannot provide the Services to you without text messaging and email communications enabled.

Children’s Privacy

The Apra App cannot be used by children under 13 years of age. Apra does not knowingly collect, maintain, or use any information from children under 13 years of age, and will take measures to promptly delete such information if we learn that we have inadvertently collected it. If you believe that a child under the age of 13 has created an account or provided any information to us through the Services, please contact us at contact@apralabs.com.

Changes to this Policy

Apra may periodically update this Policy. We’ll notify you about significant changes to it. The most current version of the policy can always be found on this page. We will post all changes to this Privacy Policy, however minor, to this page. We encourage you to refer to this page on a regular basis, so you are aware of our current privacy policy.
